President Bola Tinubu is having a closed door meeting with the service chiefs at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The meeting started at approximately 6:01 p.m. (local time), according to our correspondent, when the security chiefs arrived at the forecourt and were escorted inside the President’s office.
Since Tinubu swore in General Christopher Musa (retd.) as the new Minister of Defense on December 4, this is his first meeting with the military high command.
115 kids who were abducted from a Catholic boarding school in November are still in captivity, despite the fact that the meeting’s agenda is not yet known.
Tinubu issued an order for further recruitment into security services and proclaimed a national security emergency on November 26.
Additionally, he mandated that all police officers leave VIPs. The meeting also takes place a few days after Tinubu’s proposal to send troops to the Benin Republic in response to a coup attempt in the neighboring nation was authorized by Nigeria’s Senate.
