VeryDarkMan: We’re Not Aware Of Missing N180m NGO Funds – Police

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command says it is not aware of any purported disappearance of N180 million from the account of a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) headed by social critic Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), and is not investigating the allegation.

According to Tribune, when reached on Saturday, December 28, FCT Police Command spokesperson Josephine Adeh stated that the command is unaware of the case.

“The FCT Police Command is not aware of any case involving VDM’s missing funds and is not conducting any investigation into it. The individual in question should be contacted to clarify where the matter was reported, as there is no record of such a case with the FCT Police Command,” she said.

Recall that VDM posted a video on his Instagram page on Friday, saying that someone had hacked his website and taken N180 million out of the account, leaving N20 million.

“I’ve not been myself these past few days. Somebody hacked into the NGO website, and N180 million is missing. Thankfully, we’ve tracked the person, and one suspect has been arrested. The account is now on PND (Post No Debit). There’s N20 million left”
