Ayodele Fayose, the former governor of Ekiti State, voted in the state’s current governorship election at Polling Unit 1, St. David Primary School, Afao-Ekiti, Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Area.
Shortly after the election, Fayose told reporters that he was confident in Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s chances and that the incumbent was headed for victory.
The former governor claimed that strong support for Oyebanji was evident throughout the state based on current political developments and the sentiment of the populace.
“Oyebanji has already won the election,” Fayose said.
“If you look at the state of things in the state and the body language of the people, I am predicting an overwhelming victory for him,” he added.
Ultimately, as the votes are tallied and the people’s voices are heard, it is the candidate who best represents the aspirations and will of the electorate that will emerge victorious.
Regardless of the outcome, we trust that democracy will prevail, and the best person for the job will rise to lead Ekiti towards a brighter future.
