From Nollywood Star To U.S. Army Soldier: Joseph Momodu’s Inspiring Military Journey

Joseph Momodu, renowned Nollywood actor, has taken a bold new step by enlisting in the United States Army.
After completing rigorous Basic Combat Training, he proudly announced on Instagram that he has officially achieved the rank of Specialist (SPC) in the U.S. Army.

“Since day one, I’ve believed that true success is earned through dedication and merit. That’s why I constantly challenge myself to go beyond what I thought possible.”

“Ten weeks of silence, ten weeks of pushing through discomfort and uncertainty.”

“Today, I am proud to be officially recognized as Specialist (SPC) J.A. Momodu, serving in the United States Army @usarmy, 1st Platoon, Charlie Company, 3-10, 3rd Battalion, 10th Infantry Regiment, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.”

“This journey was shaped by tears, fears, resilience, long days, short nights, exhaustion, rain, and scorching heat.”

“There were moments of doubt, questioning myself, ‘Who sent me here?’ But I kept my eyes on the goal. Through relentless training, I was broken down and built back stronger.”

“On April 12, 2026, I honored my late father in a special way. Twenty years after his passing, I picked up where he left off—serving in the Nigerian Police Force—and continued his legacy by enlisting in the U.S. Army.”

“I dedicate this achievement first and foremost to God for granting me the strength to pass my ASVAB on the first try and successfully complete Basic Training. To my late father, whose legacy I hold dear. And to the Royal Family of Oba Momodu II, the Avyuele Clan, Agbede, Etsako West, Edo State.”

“I also extend my gratitude to @akeemogara for expertly managing my social media throughout this journey, and to the U.S. Army Recruiting Station in Burbank, California, for making this transition smooth and seamless,” he concluded.

Congratulations, Joseph Momodu!
We celebrate your courage and determination as you embark on this new chapter. Your decision to serve in the U.S. Army is truly inspiring, and we have no doubt that you will excel in your service, demonstrating resilience, dedication, and honor.

Wishing you all the best as you forge new bonds with fellow soldiers, serve your country, and continue to make your family and community proud.

Once again, congratulations, Joseph Momodu—thank you for your commitment and service.
