The FRSC reports that 48 individuals—all men—were involved in the collision. It stated that 16 people were reported unharmed and 17 people suffered various degrees of injury.

It stated that the driver’s fatigue was the cause of the collision and that the injuries sustained included bruises, fractures, and dislocations.

According to Kazeem, the bodies were given to Sarkin Hausawa, Oko Olowo, a representative of the families in the Moro Local Government region of Kwara State.

He stated that personnel from RS8.15 Oloru and RS8.1 Kwara (Oko Olowo outpost) worked together to conduct the rescue operation and that the search for additional victims buried beneath the load was ongoing.
