Shakira’s Super Bowl Attire And lyrics Will Be Displayed In The Grammy Museum

Among the objects going on display at a Los Angeles Grammy museum are two dresses Shakira wore for her Super Bowl halftime show, her handwritten lyrics, and her heavily crystallized electric guitar.

The Grammy Museum announced that the musician’s 45th birthday will see the opening of his debut exhibition.

It will be permanently installed in the Latin music exhibit of the venue and contain 40 items from Shakira’s collection under the title Shakira: The Grammy Museum Experience.

The documentary will examine the singer’s musical development from her beginnings as a Latin performer in Colombia to her rise to superstardom as a musician who performs in a variety of genres, including bachata, rock, Bhangra, and reggae.

“It’s an honour to have the journey of my career displayed at the Grammy Museum,” Shakira said.

“These pieces are a testament to so many indelible moments that I cherish, and I’m so happy to be able to relive these memories with those who have and continue to support me as an artist.”

Both Shakira’s electric guitar—which has 70,000 black crystals on it—and her acoustic guitar—which she uses to write songs—will be on exhibit.

Along with these, there are outfits from her 2018 El Dorado tour and the bikini she wore to pose for the Oral Fixation, Vol. 2 album cover in 2005.

“Shakira is the rare superstar who has discovered a way to keep evolving as an artist while growing her expansive audience along with her,” said Jasen Emmons, chief curator and vice president of curatorial affairs at the Grammy Museum.

“She’s a serious student of music and the Grammy Museum is excited to offer a dynamic exhibit that reflects her intelligence and artistry.”
