Otedola’s Mum Receives A Papal Honor From Pope Francis

Pope Francis has bestowed a papal honor upon Christine Doja Otedola, the mother of Nigerian billionaire businessman Femi Otedola.

One of the highest honors bestowed by the Catholic church, the Papal Papal honor is bestowed to people by the Pope as a token of appreciation for their contributions to the church and community.

On behalf of the Pope, Christine received the title on September 14 from Alfred Adewale Martins, the Archbishop of the Metropolitan See of Lagos.

In the Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice category, she received recognition.

Otedola took to his X page to share photos from the event and congratulate his mother on the award.

“Congratulations Mummy – Dame Christine Doja on your award of the Papal honour of Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice by His Holiness Pope Francis. This is a honour well deserved,” he wrote.

Congratulations on your well-deserved award.

“A lot of companies have chosen to downsize, and maybe that was the right thing for them. We chose a different path. Our belief was that if we kept putting great products in front of customers, they would continue to open their wallets.”
