According to Nollywood actress Etinosa Idemudia, passionate kissing and hugging moments are just like any other kind of movie scene. This was revealed by Etinosa in a Punch interview.
As a trained actor, one should be able to enter and exit a role with ease, Etinosa said in response to the growing discussion regarding how intimacy sequences are handled in Nollywood
She said, “Intimacy scenes in Nollywood are like any other scenes. Once the director says “cut,” everyone is normal.
“As a professional actor, you should be able to enter your character and come out of it easily. When you hear “action,” you perform. When you hear “cut,” you detach.
“Kissing and hugging passionately is a performative act. You can do it without thinking about it or feeling anything. That is where acting comes in. It is not registered in your mind as something erotic.
“Most times, I am thinking about whether the scene looks good enough on screen. It is more calculative than intimate.
“Even though it looks real, I do not feel anything during intimate scenes because it is a mind thing. When your mind is tuned to your job, you do not get carried away.”
