The 9-year-old boy who was injured at the Astroworld Festival has died, a family attorney says, bringing the death toll from the catastrophic concert to 10.

According to a statement from Crump, the boy was identified by his family as Ezra Blount. He was crushed during a crowd surge at the Astroworld Festival in Houston. He was later placed in a medically induced coma in an attempt to reverse the trauma to the brain, liver, and kidney.

“The Blount family is mourning the immeasurable loss of their precious young son tonight. This should not have been the result of taking their son to a concert, which should have been a joyous celebration. Ezra’s death is absolutely heartbreaking.

“We are committed to seeking answers and justice for the Blount family. But tonight we stand in solidarity with the family, in grief and in prayer,” Crump’s statement said.

Bernon Blount previously said that his grandson was in Houston to see “his favorite artist” and attended the concert with his father, Trestan Blount.

When rapper and headliner Travis Scott began performing, concertgoers were crushed and many struggled to breathe as a crowded crowd marched toward an outdoor stage.

“When my son went to the concert, he had my grandson on his shoulder,” Blount said. “Everyone pushed and he couldn’t breathe so he passed out because of all the pressure that was being put on his body. And when he got out, Ezra fell off his shoulder and fell into the crowd.”

When Barnon’s son arrived, Ezra had already been taken to Texas Children’s Hospital as John Doe.

“They didn’t know about him, his name or anything because he was separated from my son,” Bernon said.

Blount said that Ezra “had a cardiac arrest that damaged his heart.” Blount said the boy’s liver and lungs were also damaged and his brain was swollen.

Blount has previously said, “The family is devastated as it was known for their bond as a father-son bond and it has turned into something terrifying and tragic.”

Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner also expressed condolences and shared the news of Ezra’s passing. Twitter account Sunday.
“I’m saddened to learn of Ezra’s death this evening. Our city prays for his mom, dad, grandparents, other family members and classmates tonight. He needs all of our support in the months and years to come. Will be needed. May God give them strength. Rip off Ezra.”
