Macron Makes Changes On French Flag Without Announcing It To The Public

French President; Emmanuel Macron has changed the shade of blue on the country’s flag. The

Blue shade is now a darker navy shade, in contrast to what used to be cornflower blue.

It was decided to ‘reconnect’ with the flag used during the French Revolution.

The shade of blue that makes up the tricolor is now navy, the darker shade of blue being used earlier.

The change was ratified by the Elysee and last year it was changed to reconvene with the French flag of 1793 – the symbol of the French Revolution according to Europe.

While the decision was made by Macron, it is understood that his director of operations Arnaud Jollens, who was behind the move.

The flag was first used during the French Revolution in 1790 after the first French Republic was established in 1792.

After the formation of the republic, white was added to nationalize the emblem.

The three colors are sometimes taken to represent the three elements of the revolutionary motto, Liberté (independence: blue), Egliette (similarity: white), Fraternity (fraternity: red).
