Chinese Man Arrested In Ghana After Allegedly Shooting 8-Year-Old Boy

After reportedly shooting an eight-year-old boy, a Chinese man was saved from lynching by locals of Kwahu Apradang in Ghana’s Eastern region.

On Wednesday, Jan. 12, the boy, Kwasi Mireku, was apparently playing with his buddies when the event occurred.

It has been gathered that the Chinese man is been called ‘Solider’.

Sarah Pedikan, the victim’s mother, told Adom News that she was working in her backyard when she heard the gunshot and requested the children to leave.

Shortly afterward, some of Kwasi’s buddies rushed to inform her that he had been shot.

Kwasi’s mother said, “I asked my son what happened, and he told me he was going to pick water from the room, but when I confronted the Chinese, he said my son was rather going to his room.”

Angry locals, on the other hand, believe he did it on purpose, noting that this isn’t the first time Chinese people in the neighborhood have allegedly harmed residents.

The Nkwakaw Divisional Police Command intervened just in time to save the culprit from being lynched as people surrounded his house and threatened to set it on fire.

Locals have warned, saying that they will retaliate if a similar occurrence happens in the area again.

Residents have been encouraged to remain calm as the Divisional Commander, ACP Kofi Adu, begins a probe into the incident.

Kwasi is being treated in the Nkawkaw Government Hospital, where he is also in critical condition.
