Ex-minister Of Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye Joins Nollywood

Former Women Affairs Minister Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye has declared her intention to join Nigerian movie industry, Nollywood.

This comes a few months after President Bola Tinubu fired her. In August 2023, Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye was appointed as a minister. On October 23, 2024, she and four other ministers were ousted in a cabinet reshuffle.

Just four months after being kicked out of the government, the 51-year-old lawmaker has now turned her attention to filmmaking.

The former minister posted a video of her most recent endeavor on her X Twitter, announcing her acting career. A lawyer and businesswoman, Kennedy joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2015 and became the party’s first female presidential candidate in 2023 before leaving to back Tinubu.

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
