Motherhood; Raising Godly Children In An Ungodly World 2

Hello Great Mothers!

Psalm 82:6 says ‘ You are gods, you are all children of the Most High God’.We are gods because we are the children of the Most High God.

In the book of Genesis 1:27, God created man (male and female) in His image and likeness.

The above scriptures reveal that God created every human being to be like HIm. We are His and so we are created to reflect His image and likeness in every aspect of our lives; in our character, career, education, lifestyles, etc

According to the verses above, God made every person to be like Him. We were made in His image and likeness and, therefore everything about us—our personalities, occupations, education, way of life, etc.—should reflect this.

God, therefore, made our offspring in His image and likeness; they are lovely, delicate, and innocent. And He gives them to us, entrusting us with the duty of fostering His image in them. so that as kids mature into adults, their lifestyles would honor God and be in accordance with his will. Although both parents are responsible for raising their children to reflect God’s image, you will agree with me that it lies mostly on moms to fulfill these duties. This is because, as a result of our responsibilities at home, we frequently spend more time with our children than with their fathers.

However, as our children begin to grow from babies, and start to become aware of their surroundings, our children pick up on and imitate what they see and hear. What they observe around them has an impact on them. To prevent being defiled by what they observe or hear, we as moms are obligated to nurture the image of God in them.

What are the characteristics of God’s image and likeness that we are to nurture in our children since He has entrusted us with the duty of raising them so they grow up embracing His way of life and fulfilling His purpose on earth?

We shall discuss the characteristics of God’s image and likeness in our children that we are expected to nurture in my next article.

Bye!

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
