Motherhood: When You Feel Unseen And Unappreciated As A Mother 11

Hello Great Mothers!

It is reasonable for every mother to expect some sort of appreciation from their loved ones. It makes them feel valued and loved. Without appreciation in a relationship, a relationship suffers. Likewise, a mother feels hurt and unhappy when she is not appreciated for all she does in the home.

Much has been said about the responsibilities of mothers at home. How a mother takes care of everything and everyone in the home and ensures all her family members are physically and emotionally balanced. She connects everyone in the home together. Hence, her mental and physical health is also important and must be taken care of.

However, In most homes, mothers are physically and emotionally drained, and this often goes unnoticed for a long time. Thereby harming the peace in the home. Some ways this affects the peace have been discussed in my previous article, others are;

Reduced Emotional Support:

As mentioned above, mothers need to have stable emotional well-being, as it influences the overall atmosphere of the home. If a mother feels unappreciated, her ability to provide emotional support to other family members may suffer, affecting overall household peace.

Causes Communication Breakdown.

Feeling of unappreciation may make a mother less willing to communicate in the home, thereby causing communication gaps. It can also heighten sensitivity to communication, causing misunderstanding and misinterpretations of words and actions. When a woman feels less valued, she may withhold sharing her thoughts or feelings, and this may result in a lack of emotional connections among family members.

Also, when a woman feels unseen and unappreciated, she may lack the zeal to address conflicts or issues out of fear of further lack of recognition or being misunderstood.

For a peaceful and happy home, mothers should be appreciated for all they do.
