Reclaim Your God-given Innocence

Tuesday of week 19 in Ordinary Time

Deuteronomy 31:1-8
Deuteronomy 32:3-4,7-9
Matthew 18:1-5,10,12-14

“Amen, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will not enter the Kingdom of Heaven!” What did Jesus observe in children that geared him to say this admonition? What an exhilarating challenge Jesus presents us today! Have you ever wondered what it is about children that inspired such a powerful call to embrace our inner innocence?

Children possess an incredible gift—they are free from biases, prejudices, and all the negative emotions that often weigh us down as adults. There has never been a child born carrying the heavy burdens of anger, hatred, or spite. These qualities are learned as we navigate the complexities of self-focused lives, shaped by families and societies that sometimes pass on generations of intolerance.

Jesus saw the beauty in a child’s pure heart and unwavering faith. He invites us to reclaim that innocence and openness, to shed the layers of negativity, and to fully embrace his message of unconditional love for every human being, regardless of our differences.

Let’s ignite our hearts! May the Lord abundantly fill us with love for Him, his teachings, and all of creation! Let’s embrace this adventure of love and kindness! Peace be with you!

Today's Quote

“A lot of companies have chosen to downsize, and maybe that was the right thing for them. We chose a different path. Our belief was that if we kept putting great products in front of customers, they would continue to open their wallets.”
