Within hours of their wedding ceremony, a couple shocked friends and relatives by annulling their marriage, sending Abuja into a state of shock.
In a Facebook post on Sunday, December 29, 2024, Habibu Abubakar Wushishi, Director of Media and Strategy at the Niger State Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, disclosed the information.
“A couple who got married yesterday have been divorced this morning. Reason: They both have been lying to each other; they made me waste my fuel to Gwagwalada for nothing,” Wushishi lamented in his post, which has since gone viral.
Wushishi claims that although the couple got married on Saturday, December 28, they broke up the next morning. The partners’ mutual dishonesty was blamed for the startling turn of events.
The announcement has sparked widespread reactions on social media, with many expressing disbelief and speculating about the nature of the lies that unraveled the marriage so quickly.
