Stick to Your Story – Monday Motivation

Stick to Your Story – Monday Motivation

But they wouldn’t believe her, dismissing her, dismissing her report. “You’re crazy,” they said. She stuck by her story, insisting. They still wouldn’t believe her and said, “It must be his angel.” All this time poor Peter was standing out in the street, knocking away. Finally they opened up and saw him—and went wild! Peter put his hands up and calmed them down. He described how the Master had gotten him out of jail, then said, “Tell James and the brothers what’s happened.” He left them and went off to another place (Act 12:15-18 ).

She stuck to her story. Believe me or not, I know the voice I heard, she insisted. Rhoda had not seen Peter; she was yet to see the manifestation of answered prayers, but she knew she had heard the voice. To her, hearing the voice was as good as having seen the face of her desire. With the voice of Peter in her ears already, it was only a matter of time before she sees his face. To her, this was enough to be excited over. But it was going to take the crowd some more time before they would believe. They were going to believe and be excited like Rhoda only after the door is opened and they see face to face what she had only heard and believed.

The lesson is that in life, we should not always expect people to go with us, or with our unseen convictions on any matter or what we have heard in the secret place. People would always misunderstand us and call us names when we share our innermost thoughts with them. They would lack the capacity to understand why we are so excited over what they would best describe as irrational thinking. Many times they would think we are making a mistake and becoming crazy. Never mind! It would only be a matter of time before they see with their own eyes what you heard in your spirit in the secret place. Soon, they too would begin to understand the voice that brought you laughter and excitement. When it all finally comes to the surface, they would not only be excited with you; they would go wild. But while they all still remain in doubt and unbelief; like Rhoda, you must stick to your story and to the voice you have heard. There should never be room given to change your story or let go of that voice. No one would have taken Rhoda seriously nor taken the pain to go open the door if she had dropped her story. They all finally saw what only her knew and had since been talking about because she held on to her story.

💡Never let go of your convictions even if you were the only one in the whole world who believed in it. Soon, the whole world would see and go wild, and it would then be your turn to tell them, “this is what I have been trying so hard to tell you all.” Stick to your conviction! Hold on to your story! Soon and very soon, the same crowd of unbelieving people would be mobilized by your ‘Peter’ to help spread your story abroad.🙏
