BBNaija S9: Mercy Eke Apologizes After Her Handler Called Onyeka ‘Gold Digger’

Reality television personality Mercy Eke apologized on social media for calling Big Brother Naija “No Loose Guard” housemate Onyeka a “gold digger.”

In a since-deleted tweet, the handler said that Onyeka was with Ozee Mbadiwe because of his affluent upbringing.

“Onyeka the Mbadiwe gold digger sorry to burst your bubbles there’s no gold in the twins… #BBnaija,” Mercy Eke’s verified X handle posted.

Fans were incensed by the tweet and flocked to their sites to denounce Eke’s behavior.

Eke apologized after receiving criticism, saying that her handler had tweeted the tweet instead of her.

She wrote, “Can’t believe I’m waking up to this on my birthday. A handler that was supposed to post my birthday contents and reply to birthday wishes was involving herself in a BBN drama and now I have to deal with this mess???

“I have left everything BBN behind for Christ’s sake! And seeing such silly opinions, especially about one of the housemates I like! The only reason I’m not tagging this person’s main page is to not get her bullied by fans, because this is highly unprofessional.

“I apologize to Team Onyeka because this is so embarrassing coming from my account, it definitely does not represent me or how I feel.”
