‘Enough Is Enough’: Amy Duggar King Reflects On Surviving Domestic Abuse

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Amy Duggar King has opened up about two past abusive relationships in hopes that her story might help others. The reality TV star wrote a candid and vulnerable post on Instagram detailing how she was treated and molested by two different men.

He remembered one night, in particular, which is etched in his memory.

“We were at a millionaire’s house for a New Year’s party and he was telling a story but he wasn’t telling the story right so I said ‘No babe, that’s how it went,’” she said wrote.

Raja, 35, continued, “Thinking it wouldn’t be a big deal to tell the story properly? He asked if we could talk in the hallway and the second we turned away from people, he grabbed me by the neck and Grabbed the hair and banged my head against the wall several times and told me never to make him look bad again.”

He said that his anger only got worse when he reached home.

“He angrily broke a vase and then broke into his family’s safe and showed me the ring he had kept for me and threw it in the yard,” she described.

He was not the only man he encountered who was abusive. King said she was dating another man and one night while they were watching TV.

“He told me ‘I bet you’re thinking of some other guy right now,’” she recalled. “And I was like ‘Umm no.’ And he got up and yelled ‘Don’t lie to me!!’ The DVD broke, and I was like ‘What the hell is wrong with you’ and he was like, why are you with me?”

“He told me no one ever left him. He then became like the Mad Hulk and slammed his hand against his big TV and smashed it into a million pieces and was throwing things and then picked up his first Like he was killing me,” wrote the king.

Enough,” declared the TV personality, “imagine that nightmare if I were to marry any man?”

King warned that “abuse starts small” and “they figure out what they can get away with and then it goes on and on until they really can’t stop.”

She is currently married to Dylan King and they have a two-year-old son, Daxton Ryan. The couple tied the knot in 2015.
