House Help Who Ran Away With Her Madam’s Child In Lagos, Caught By Police In Ogun

On the 3rd of January 2022, officers from the Ogun state police command apprehended a 14-year-old house help, Favour Iwuozor, for eloping with her boss’s 2-year-old son.

According to the victim’s father, Moses Otojareri, the suspect, who was employed in the second week of November, fled with his son on December 19, 2021.

According to him, the suspect, his wife, and their two children attended church services. His wife, on the other hand, received a call from one of her customers, and she instructed Favour to make sure she and the children returned to her shop after church. Favour, on the other hand, had vanished.

The suspect was arrested after a complaint was lodged at Sagamu divisional headquarters by one Victoria Nwafor, who reported seeing a 14-year-old girl on the 22nd of December 2021, with a very sick two-year-old boy in Yaba Lagos, according to the Ogun state police command’s spokesperson, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi.

She went on to say that the little girl was begging for money under the guise that the small boy was her younger brother and that their parents had died in a car accident in December 2020.

The woman took both of them to her home in Sagamu out of compassion, in order to care for the little boy’s illnesses.

However, as soon as the boy was fully recovered, the suspect wanted to take him to Imo state on her own. This piqued the woman’s interest, prompting her to file a report.

Following the report, CSP Okiki Agunbiade of the DPO Sagamu division directed his detectives to go pick the girl and the little boy.

Oyeyemi said, “On interrogation, the girl confessed that she was a maid to the mother of the little boy and that she left with the boy since on the 19th of December 2021, with the intention of taking the boy to Amraku Umorsu in Isiala/Mberna local government area of Imo state.

She stated further that, she took the baby from the church during the Sunday school period, and since the Sunday school teacher knows her with the baby’s mother, she had no problem releasing the baby to her. She explained further that she decided to beg for alms in order to raise transport fare to Imo state.”

According to the police spokesperson, Commissioner of Police CP Lanre Bankole has ordered that the baby’s parents be contacted and that the case be forwarded to the Lagos state command, under whose jurisdiction the crime was committed.
