Jide Awobona, a Nollywood actor, was moved by a heartfelt letter from his colleague, Mo Bimpe.
The actor had finally earned his master’s degree, fifteen years after earning his first. He said he did it in spite of all the odds. Jide said that his most recent accomplishment demonstrated that learning is a continuous process.
Mo Bimpe congratulated him on his victory and shared her pride in him on her Instagram page noting that people could see the certificate, but they might not see the journey, she pointed out.
“To say I’m proud of you, my Murasi, is an understatement. I am so incredibly proud of you. @jideawobona Congratulations on earning your MSc!
People may see the certificate, but they don’t see the journey. Balancing work, your career, family and school at the same time isn’t easy at all; it’s demanding, exhausting, and requires discipline that many can’t maintain. But you did it with grace, strength, and determination. I applaud you deeply.
This is only the beginning. May God crown your efforts with even greater achievements, and may many more celebrations follow in Jesus’ name. Amen.
