July 9th: Weekly Catch-Up On Naija’s Political Drama: #Ban Reno Omokri From Twitter; Homosexuals Must Be Klled; Others

100,000 Nigerians Sign Petition To Ban Reno Omokri From Twitter.

Reno Omokri, an author and human rights activist is currently facing serious backlash from the supporters of Peter Obi popularly known as ‘the Obidients’.

In an interview with Arise TV, the former governor of Anambra state, in response to a comment made by the NNPP’s presidential candidate Rabiu Kwankwaso, questioned why his political colleagues keep commending him for his intellect and his economical insight but yet want him to run as a Vice President.

He stated that the country has been hiring vehicle drivers to pilot its affairs instead of a pilot.

Peter Obi said, “Nigerians have consistently hired vehicle drivers instead of hiring qualified pilots to pilot Nigeria affairs.”

Reno, who is an active and loyal member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), is now been accused by the ‘Obedients’ of trying to incite religious and ethnic hatred among Nigerians after a tweet he made about Peter Obi’s statement.

Reno said, “While his Obedients are applauding that interview if you watch it with an unbiased mind, you see that Peter Obi considers himself a pilot and Kwankwaso a mere driver and substitute player. The people of Kano heard that. The North heard that. Others Nigerians heard!”

Reno went further to translate his tweet to Hausa in order to reach his intended target, the minds of the northern.

Angered obi supporters, who believe the tweet was drafted to incite hatred among Nigerians, are now signing a petition, calling for the ban of Reno’s Twitter account which has now been signed by over 100,000 people.

I Am Not Interested In Any Visit From Atiku – Wike

Nyesom Wike And Atiku Abubakar

Gov Nyesom Wike of Rivers State seems not to have forgiven Atiku Abubakar, the PDP’s presidential candidate, for betraying him to pick Gov Okowa of Delta State as his vice-presidential running mate.

It was said that Gov Wike was the party’s favourite pick for the VP slot and even Atiku, during his visit to Wike’s home in Port Harcourt, assured the sitting governor of the position.

According to a source, Wike has now stated that he is not interested in meeting with Atiku, who planned on visiting him for reconciliation talks and to secure his support for the 2023 elections.

Wike stated that if Atiku wants to speak to him, he should meet his strategy team and discuss with them.

The source said, “There is no likelihood of Wike having a one-on-one private discussion with Atiku. Shortly after the primary, the governor had a side meeting with Atiku in Abuja and nothing was adhered to.

“He was shocked that Atiku has not told Nigerians what transpired between him and Wike after the primary and how he arrived at Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as a running mate.

“Since there was no full disclosure, Wike has directed that fresh talks with Atiku should be with his strategy team members, who will come up with an advisory for him.”
