Motherhood: Raising Godly Children In An Ungodly World 5

Hello, Great Mothers!

The term “immorality” refers to conduct that society deems immoral or improper. The definition of immorality differs Based on cultural, religious, and moral standards. It is frequently linked to immoral and improper conduct that violates the ideals and standards of a certain society or group. Immorality can take many various forms and have diverse levels of repercussions, from adultery to thievery.

Gen 1:3 says ‘ And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.’

According the scripture above, God created everything in the world good, including the system in operation in the world. But ungodliness creep in, the moment a man begins to reject the instructions of God and accept that of the devil. Man embraces and repackages immorality as a normal way of life. Sexual immorality, immoral dressings, corruption, cultism, cheating, etc. are on the increase. As good mothers who do not want our children to imbibe the corrupt system of the world, how do we train our children to be Godly in this ungodly world?

In my previous article, we discussed that to train our children to be Godly, we must nurture the image of God in our children. Three of the images have been discussed in my previous articles. The rest will be discussed in this article.

Rationality:
This is the nature of God given to man to be able to reason, think, and understand. This helps man to weigh up actions and consequences. It is our responsibility to teach our children to study the word of God daily, and to establish their values on the basis of these words. It is our duty to teach them to choose what films they see, books they read, and music they listen to see. Because all these carefully form their thoughts and definitely determine the decisions they make at every point in time.

Man’s ability to reason, think, and understand is a quality that God bestowed upon him. Man can better weigh the pros and disadvantages of his actions because. We have a duty to instill in our kids a daily study of the Bible and the fundamental importance of using the scriptures to guide their moral judgment. We have a responsibility to teach our children to make informed decisions about the movies, books, and music they enjoy. For the simple reason that all of these carefully shape their ideas and certainly influence the choices, they make.

It is important we constantly remind them of this scripture: Philippians 4:8, ‘Whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just whatever things are pure, whatsoever things are of good report, if there be any virtue, if there be any praise, think of these things.

We can do this with the help of the Holy Spirit.

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
