Obi Cubana Says It Is Repulsive For NDLEA To Associate Him With Drugs

Obi Iyiegbu, also known as Obi Cubana, a Nigerian celebrity, has said that it was revolting for the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency to link him with illegal narcotics business.

On Saturday, Obi Cubana claimed this during an Instagram live conversation with media personality Daddy Freeze.

The well-known club owner was referring to his recent run-in with the NDLEA over his suspected of involvement in illegal narcotics dealings.

It was previously stated that Obi Cubana, Chairman of the Cubana Group of Companies, was quizzed for almost five hours on Thursday at the NDLEA headquarters in Abuja before being given bail and asked to return at a later date.

Three convicted drug dealers from Malaysia, Nigeria, and India were said to have placed suspicious payments into Cubana’s account.

In his account of his interactions with the agency, the club owner stated that he felt so low that he was linked to narcotics.

He said, “I was in detention for four days and three nights. I didn’t feel bad because I knew the agency would do a thorough job and if I am cleared, I’d be let go.

“There was no witch-hunting, nobody was after me. But to link me to drugs? I’ve never felt so low. To me, it’s repulsive.”

Obi Cubana stated that he had made a vow to God that he would never support, invest in, or be involved in any drug trade.

“This is something that my children could be victims of,” the celebrity said.

Making clarification on any accusation, he said, “I was never accused. I was never linked to anything but they said somebody paid money into my account, and I believe that the agency in question is a very responsible one.

“I know that at the end of the day, they would make their findings public.”
