Three young scholars from Abia State have departed Nigeria for China to pursue postgraduate studies, thanks to a fully funded scholarship initiative facilitated by the Orji Uzor Kalu Foundation in partnership with the Chinese Scholarship Council (CSC).
This was made known by Senator Orji Uzor Kalu representing Abia North Senatorial District, who expressed his delight at the development, highlighting it as part of his ongoing commitment to youth empowerment and educational advancement in his constituency.
The beneficiaries of the prestigious scholarships are Sunny O. Idika, from Ohafor Ward, Ohafia Local Government Area, who will pursue an MBA at Zhejiang Normal University, Jinhua.
Emmanuel Iheakachukwu Odoemelam, from Eziama Agbo Ward, Nneato, Umunneochi Local Government Area, who will be undertaking a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry at Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT), and Kingsley Onwukwe Orji, from Igbere Ward A, Bende Local Government Area, also enrolled in an MBA program at Zhejiang Normal University, Jinhua.
According to the former Abia State Governor, the scholarship covers tuition fees, accommodation, health insurance, and monthly stipends, ensuring the scholars can focus entirely on their academic pursuits without financial burdens.
