The Nigerian film industry mourns the loss of Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, a respected veteran actor renowned for his contributions to Yoruba cinema. Sadly, he succumbed to cancer after a courageous battle.
His daughter, Kira Taiwo, shared the heartbreaking news during a live session on Instagram on Sunday night. Just days prior, she had disclosed that he was battling stage four cancer, and now the industry is mourning his passing.
Prior to his demise, there were efforts to support his treatment; notably, Ogun State’s APC gubernatorial aspirant Adeola Olamilekan (Yayi) reportedly provided financial assistance to aid his fight against the illness.
This is a significant loss for Nollywood and the entertainment world at large. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family and the Yoruba film community during this difficult period. May his soul find eternal peace.
