Which Way – Narrow Or Wide Gate?

Which Way – Narrow Or Wide Gate?

In today’s gospel, after someone asked Jesus, will few people be saved ?Jesus gave a strong warning to us all that the way to Heaven is an uneasy road and we should try our best to enter the narrow gate. The implication is that, just because we feel we are doing enough for him does not guarantee us that we will be among those who will be saved at the end of life. It road to perdition is wider and full of deception. Before us, therefore, lies the roads, Which would you pass through. Narrow or wide? The choice is yours.

Christ himself is wisdom. He is the center of all divine revelation and in him lies the hidden treasures of wisdom and knowledge. His wisdom is not only essential but eternal. It means following in his footsteps we make the uneasy road to heaven bearable and possible. Looking at him who died on the cross for us all will make us carry our crosses and bear the discomforts along the way to heaven. Take my yoke and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble of heart. For my yoke his easy and my burden light… You will find rest for your soul. Matthew 11:29.

Let us not approach our Lord as though we were strangers, or as though he were unwilling to hear us—for we are greatly beloved by our loving Father. “He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?” We are a truly in a privilege position. Therefore, look to Jesus, move, follow and live.
