Woman Breaks Neighbour’s Fingers Who Asked For S*x

Neema Lasalo, a Kenyan woman, has been charged with grievous bodily harm and finger fracturing after a dispute with her neighbour.

Lasalo, who is married, refuted the accusations, saying the complainant has been persistently pursuing her and making unwanted approaches toward her.

Lasalo and her husband Benedict Likoli were charged with jointly causing serious injury to John Kibunja in violation of section 234 of the Penal Code after they allegedly beat him up for allegedly stalking her.

She testified before the court that even after she warned Mr Kibunja, their neighbour, who rides bodabodas at night, has been taking advantage of her husband’s absence to ask for s*xual favours.

Before she reported the complainant to the Kayole police station, Ms Lasalo said she had already told her husband that Mr Kibunja had been stalking her, but no action was taken.

The woman testified in court that she had an entry slip from her Occurrence Book (OB) that showed she had reported Mr Kibunja to the station.

The duo is charged with assaulting Mr Kibunja at their apartment in Kayole, Nairobi, on September 4 while twisting his fingers.

After finishing his shift at work, Mr Kibunja was making his way home up some stairs when he encountered the couple. They are accused of insulting him before attacking him and kicking and punching him repeatedly.

They allegedly pulled him to the ground while he called for help and twisted his two fingers, breaking them, before bystanders stepped in and saved him.

Before being escorted to the hospital, the complaint made his way to his house. The two suspects were later detained when he reported the incident to the Kayole police station.

The two contested the allegations in front of Senior Principal Magistrate Hellen Okwany of the Makadara Law Courts.

The court laughed as Ms Lasalo begged the magistrate to remand her husband in return for her freedom so she could care for their child.

The duo was remanded in detention until November 8, when Ms Okwany will decide on their bond and bail request once she has seen the probation officer’s report.

The case’s hearing will begin on March 21 of next year.

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
