Woman Catches Neighbor Who Stole Her Delivery Package Wearing The Item
A woman claimed that her neighbour had stolen her package and then worn what she had bought.
In a Reddit post, the anonymous woman revealed that her partner had ordered a bunch of clothes as a birthday present, and she was looking forward to receiving it.
She called the delivery company to check out what had happened when it didn’t arrive, but was told it had been delivered.
She then checked with her building’s concierge, who confirmed that it had been delivered.
After a week, she still hadn’t received her package… until she saw her neighbor in the gym wearing the exact set she’d ordered.
She said, “I was then in a communal gym when I noticed a lady wearing one of the exact sets of clothes that were ordered for me.
“I noticed her struggle getting into a pair of joggers which were clearly too tight for her (I’m size XXS).”
She returned to the concierge personnel to review the CCTV tape, suspecting that her neighbor had taken the package.
She claimed she saw the same lady from the gym pick up her package there.
The building’s management schedule a meeting with the two women to talk about why she stole the parcel.
She said, “She didn’t even hide the fact that she took and opened the package.
“She said she ‘thought’ it was meant for her (our names are nothing alike), and she even accused me of ordering the wrong size (WHAT?!).”
When she asked her next-door neighbor to pay her for the cost of the garments she’d ordered, she became enraged and protested that it wasn’t her fault the concierge had given her the package.
She ended her post by asking Reddit users for assistance on how to get her money back, and many people responded with suggestions.
One user said: “Your neighbour has admitted to you and a witness that she took the parcel. On being informed that it wasn’t hers, she is now refusing to give back the items. This is very obviously theft, and the police should definitely be your next step.”
Another user wrote: “I think the concierge may need to take some blame here, I’m assuming it’s a manned desk which is designed to take in parcels on behalf of residents, so I don’t see how they’ve given out the parcel to someone else. I don’t think they can just say it’s nothing to do with them.”
