World-class wrestler; The Miz says the wrestler who repeatedly stabbed a referee in the head with an iron spike should NEVER be hired again, the dude should be perma-banned from the squared circle.

“You don’t do that stuff,” the WWE superstar told TMZ Sports at LAX “That didn’t look like a mistake.”

Devon Nicholson — aka “Hannibal” — badly injured a ref; Lando Deltoro during a match at an independent event in Irving, Texas on Saturday.

Deltoro shared several graphic photos that showed what appeared to be sutured throughout his head. In footage from the event, Nicholson pounded on the guy’s forehead with a stake over and over and over again — ‘causing the man to bleed heavily.

The ref was eventually hospitalized over the incident. Thankfully, he’s expected to make a full recovery.

When The Miz was asked about the incident just three days after the incident … he said he’d be in favour of a lifetime ban for the wrestler.

“Accidents happen,” The Miz said, “but I don’t get stabbed with like a knife or whatever the hell the guy had.”

For his part, Nicholson says he wasn’t aware that he was injuring the ref … saying Deltoro never gave him any indication that he was being hurt in the show.

Sa said that the referee was hired because he was a bleeder. He did not referee any other matches on the card,” he said. “His sole purpose of why he was hired was to bleed… I was given a prop to create the weapon effect in the match. The prop was given to me by the World Class Pro Wrestling office, and it was given to me in the ring… This referee was supposed to bleed from razor blade cuts, which I assume he actually cut himself with the razor blades.”

Nicholson later said, “I talked to the guy the next day. He said that we were cool. He knows that I didn’t mean to hurt him. I did apologize to him. If he told me he was getting hurt, I would’ve stopped.”

As for Deltoro, he claimed he had no way of telling Nicholson to stop … saying the wrestler was too big and too powerful to get any words out before he eventually slipped out of consciousness.

“I had heard that I could have said ‘stop’ at any time. I just wanted to say that’s it’s very hard to talk when there is a 300lbs man’s knee on your back and then being put in a chokehold while being stabbed repeatedly in the head with an iron spike, passed out shortly after.”
