COME TO GOD WITH A BROKEN HEART AND A CONTRITE SPIRIT
The prevalence of fault-finders is undeniable, as individuals have persistently endeavored to disunite the faithful from their Master. However, throughout history, their endeavors have proven futile. Neither accolades nor admonitions have succeeded in severing this unyielding bond.
It is an exceptional connection that cannot be dissolved by the world’s influence. Neither mankind nor malevolence have discovered a means to unlock this bond. The craft of Satan has faltered when attempting to rupture this union of two divinely conjoined hearts.
The irrevocable decree states, ‘God loves the upright, and the upright has God for his help.’ Therefore, believers are implored to love Jesus with a fervor surpassing all others, and to approach God with humility and contrition.
The process of brokenness entails the stripping away of pride and self-sufficiency to allow the embodiment of Christ’s character. Brokenness does not necessarily stem from tragedy, as many endure hardships without drawing nearer to God.
The essence of brokenness lies not in the circumstances but in one’s response. It revolves around understanding the lessons God intends to impart.
Brokenness occurs when self-reliance is wholly eradicated, compelling individuals to acknowledge that only God can offer true solace. When every attempted escape is blocked, the recognition that God alone holds the solution is a transformative revelation. When God becomes one’s sole reliance, He fulfills all needs.
His omnipotence is reserved for those who relinquish self-reliance and personal agendas. Emphasizing the phrase ‘the sacrifice you desire,’ it is evident that sacrifice demands the relinquishment of self-interest, ego, and autonomy. Just as a seed must be broken for a plant to emerge, or a chick’s shell must be broken for it to thrive, one’s will and self-interest must be broken to attain victory.
Let us unite in bestowing our utmost adoration upon the entirely admirable one. The Sovereign of the Sabbath deserves an amalgamation of our purest affections.
