APC GROUP TO OBI: Urge Otti to show accountability

The Abia Best Interest Association (A.B.I.A), a group loyal to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State, has challenged Peter Obi, the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, to urge Governor Alex Otti to show accountability for his projects. Specifically, they’re questioning the whereabouts of N54 billion allegedly spent on 51 public school projects between the first and fourth quarters of 2024.

The group accuses Otti’s administration of systemic corruption, impunity, and lack of transparency. They’ve petitioned anti-graft agencies, including the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), demanding investigations and sanctions.

Allegations Against Otti’s Administration

  • Phantom Projects: The group claims there are no visible smart school projects despite massive allocations.
  • Repression of Civil Servants: Civil servants are allegedly being repressed.
  • Lack of Transparency: There’s a perceived lack of accountability and transparency in governance.

APC’s Confidence in 2027

The APC group expresses confidence in defeating Otti in 2027, citing his alleged corruption and lack of transparency. They believe Abians are yearning for liberation from Otti’s rule, which they’ve described as tyrannical and confusing .

The group accuses Peter Obi of hypocrisy, saying he shouldn’t criticize other governments when his own party’s government in Abia State lacks transparency and accountability. They’re urging Obi to focus on Otti’s administration instead of looking to other countries for governance models.
