BREAKING NEWS:
ASUU Receives Full November Salary, Holds Outstanding

Our correspondent also learned that eight months’ worth of unpaid balance has been put on hold by the federal government.

A senior member of the union at Bayero University Kano said in an interview with a correspondent in Abuja on Wednesday.

It was reported that the federal government has refused to pay the costs of the union’s eight-month strike to striking faculty members.

Lecturers were also paid a pro rata (half salary) in October 2022, said Labor and Employment Secretary Chris Ngige.

We learned exclusively in October that a faculty member was only paid for her 18 working days, as a senior member of ASUU told our correspondent in strict confidence.

Speaking with our correspondent, he said, “We were only paid for the days after the strike. I received half salary. Other members are angry right now, they are blaming the NEC for calling off the strike.”

Lecturers across the country have been protesting against this decision by the Federal Government.
