Eyes On Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Ahead Of Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee

The longest-serving monarch in British history; Queen Elizabeth II, is set to celebrate her 70 years on the throne in a few days.

All eyes will be on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex; Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as they travel across the pond for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. The 96-year-old queen is celebrating 70 years on the throne.

In May, a spokeswoman for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle confirmed they were heading to the UK with their son Archie and daughter Lillibet for the ceremony. The visit will be the first time Lilibet, who was born in California a year ago, is in her father’s homeland. She’ll probably also celebrate her first birthday – June 4 – during the trip.

The news came shortly after Buckingham Palace announced that only senior members of the British royal family would be seen greeting the public on the balcony as part of Trooping the Colour, the monarch’s annual birthday celebration. They stepped back as senior members in 2020.

“I think the family really wants Harry and Meghan, as well as the kids, to be part of the family,” True Royalty TV co-founder Nick Bullen told Fox News Digital. “As much as it’s a big state event, it’s also a family event. It’s a celebration of grandma and great-grandmother and everything she’s done as Queen. And it’s my understanding that the Queen is going to be a part of the Sussex family.”

Bullen is an award-winning documentarian who has been making programs about the British royal family for over 20 years and worked closely with Prince Charles for nearly a decade. While he founded his production company Spoon Gold in 2004, Bullen has been producing royal stuff before.

True Royalty TV will premiere a US exclusive documentary titled “The Queen Unseen” on June 1. Produced by ITV, the film features rare footage and home movies shot by members of the royal family and friends.

Bullen revealed that there is a lot of excitement about the Sussexes returning to England as a family, with some members reportedly nervous about the events that could unfold after their appearance.

“There is undoubtedly nervousness about what can be said afterward because unfortunately, every time Harry and Meghan have been with the Royal Family recently, or over the years, what happened in those meetings and those moments, There have been stories about it,” Bullen explained. “Interviews are given. And I know the house was taken by surprise when Harry talked about the need to protect his grandmother during a television interview. So there’s a lot of panic about what will be said.”

Bullen revealed that through the couple’s Archwell Productions, they are said to be working on many projects that will be premiered by Netflix. In 2020, Markle and Harry 37, 40, announced a multi-year deal with the streaming giant. His production company is geared towards producing documentaries, feature films, scripted shows, and children’s programming.

“Will Netflix’s cameras follow the whole thing?” Bullen said. “It surprises you.”

What is known for certain is that the couple is expected to attend the Thanksgiving ceremony at St. Paul’s Cathedral on June 3. Several members of the royal family are expected to attend, including the Queen’s son Prince Andrew, who is no longer working as a royal. Following her controversial relationship with the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. While Harry’s nieces and nephews, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, may attend the ceremony, it is believed their children are too young to go out.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will not be seen on the balcony with Queen Elizabeth during Trooping the Colour.
Before the service, there is a possibility that Markle and Harry will appear at Trooping the Colour in another capacity, such as taking part in a carriage ride as part of a parade.

It has also been reported that the couple is planning to “keep it simple”. They plan to stay at their home at Frogmore Cottage near Windsor Castle. Although they have agreed not to hold their events to avoid overseeing the main Jubilee celebrations, they plan to attend some major events over the weekend, including a star-studded concert in front of Buckingham Palace.

Sources have told ITV News that royal aides are hoping the Sussexes will “stick to the script” during their visit.

Leading to move out, Bullen says palace sources told her the family is working behind the scenes to try to make amends. Insiders shared that they want the Queen’s reign to be the focus during this happy time.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex plan to ‘keep it simple’ during their visit, royal aides claimed.
“What I’ve been told is that the whole family is really trying to mend the relationship with Harry,” he said. “Within the family, there is a real hope from the Queen, Prince of Wales, Prince William, and Kate Middleton that ties with the Sussexes can be repaired. Because at heart, William and Harry are two brothers who made love and have supported each other for so many years. For the Prince of Wales, it is his son whom he loves and supports. For the Queen, it is her grandson, whom she loves and loves dearly. Everyone wants to mend this relationship for different reasons.”

“I hear from all the houses, whether it’s Buckingham Palace, Clarence House, or Kensington Palace, they want to find a way to mend this relationship,” Bullen said.

The celebrations will conclude with the Platinum Jubilee pageant on Sunday.

Markle, a former American actress, became the Duchess of Sussex when she married the British prince at Windsor Castle in May 2018. The couple welcomed a son named Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor in 2019.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s departure from royal duties began in 2020, in what they described as intrusive British media and racist attitudes towards the former “Suits” star. The family now resides in the coastal city of Montecito, California.

In the wake of leaving royal duties, he gave an explosive TV interview to Oprah Winfrey in March 2021, in which the couple described painful comments about how dark Archie’s skin could be before his birth. The Duchess spoke about the intense isolation she felt inside the royal family that led her to contemplate suicide.

Buckingham Palace said the racism allegations leveled by the couple were “concerning” and would be addressed privately.

Winfrey, 68, and Harry collaborated on the Apple TV+ mental-health series “The Me You Can’t See.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex live in California with their two children.
In June of the same year, the couple welcomed their second child, a daughter named Lilibet “Lily” Diana Mountbatten-Windsor.

The name pays tribute to both Harry’s grandmother, the Queen, whose family surname is Lillibet, and his late mother, Princess Diana.
