Police Arrest Security Personnel For abducting and r3ping 14-year-old girl in Rivers

Operatives of the Rivers State Police Command have detained a security guard known only as Godday for allegedly kidnapping and sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl in the Mothercat area of Trans-Amadi, Port Harcourt.

The suspect was captured last Tuesday by officers from the Amadi Police Division, working alongside security personnel from another bank located near the crime scene.

Addressing journalists in Port Harcourt about the incident, the mother of the teenage victim explained that she had sent her daughter to withdraw money from an ATM when the suspect forcibly took her into the bank where he was employed and assaulted her.

“On Saturday, 20th September,2025 about after 1 pm, I was not feeling fine so I sent my daughter to Mothercart, to withdraw money with my ATM. I gave her transportation to and from too. So she will not have to waste time,” she narrated.

“She withdrew at one of the commercial banks at Mothercat and then entered a Keke (tricycle) to the ordinance junction to withdraw more money. When I called her, she told me she was done.

“I waited for some time but I didn’t see her and it was past the time she was supposed to return. So I became worried. I then called her phone she was not picking up. While we were on her search, I called again and she said with a low voice that she was on her way home.

“When she came back, her clothes were soaked with water and blood, and there were bruises on her face, neck and leg. Her left jaw got swollen and her left eye too. She was so weak.

“First of all we went to the police station in Amadi and made an official report. We then took her to the Hospital for treatment. When she became a bit strong, we asked her what happened.

“She explained that when she was withdrawing money at the bank in Ordinance in Trans Amadi, a man was standing behind her. So she felt the man also came to withdraw money.

“After withdrawing money, she discovered that the man did not proceed to the bank ATM to withdraw money. She now entered another Keke and went back to another bank at Mothercat (also at Trans-Amadi). When she came down in front of the bank at Mothercat, she saw the man who was standing behind her at the bank in ordinance.

“The man started dragging her in front of the bank at Mothercat, She was shouting that no one came to her rescue. The man dragged her to a bank where he is a security guard at the same mothercat, dragged her inside, locked the gate and r3ped her. At that process, while she was struggling the man held her mouth and started beating her till she passed out,”

The victim’s mother added that hours later, the man revived her and instructed her to gather her belongings and leave.

“So we reported the case again to the bank where she went to withdraw money at Mothercat. So people there went in search of the guy and arrested him. Then when I counted the money asked her to withdraw, N340,000 was missing.”

While struggling to hold back tears, the woman expressed anguish that her daughter lost her virginity in such a traumatic way and called for a thorough investigation and justice.

The State Police Command’s spokesperson, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, verified the incident and the suspect’s arrest.

“Yes I can confirm. The man has been arrested and the matter transferred to the SCIID (State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department), Port Harcourt for further investigation,” the PPRO said.*

The Yobe State Police Command has detained two individuals linked to an attack on a police officer, Corporal Amani Ali, in the Nguru Local Government Area of the state.

The command’s spokesperson, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, who revealed this in a statement on Saturday, September 27, 2025, stated that the officer was assaulted while performing his duties at the Federal Medical Centre, Nguru.

According to the PPRO, the attackers stole the officer’s AK-47 rifle, leaving him unconscious.

Police operatives retrieved the rifle, magazines, and a knife jacket used in the assault during a strategic operation.

“In Nguru, operatives of the Divisional Police Headquarters arrested Jarma Hussaini Adam (25) and Mohammed Abdusalam a.k.a. ‘Uzaifa’ (16), both of Sabon Garin Kanuri, Nguru LGA, following an assault on a police personnel attached to guard duty at the Federal Medical Centre, Nguru,” the statement read.

On September 26, 2025, at about 1900hrs, CPL Amani Ali, while patrolling around the hospital premises, was discovered lying unconscious and bleeding, with his rifle stolen.

“Police operatives swiftly launched a tactical operation leading to the recovery of the rifle, magazines, and a knife jacket used during the attack, which were found disposed of at separate locations around the Sabon Garin Kanuri swamp area.

“Two suspects were arrested, and the injured officer is currently recuperating.

“This incident is considered an affront to the Nigeria Police Force by disgruntled elements. The Command remains resolute in ensuring that any attempt to assault police personnel is treated not only as a criminal act but also as an attack on constituted authority.”

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
