“Russia will never win in Ukraine” – Biden Tells Putin

U.S. President Joe Biden declared that Ukraine “stands strong” a year after Russia’s invasion and that Moscow will never defeat its neighbour following President Putin’s fiery speech on Tuesday, February 21, in which he said that Russia will never lose to Ukraine.

Vladimir Putin, the president of Russia, declared that Moscow would succeed in its goals in Ukraine and claimed that the West was attempting to destroy Russia hours before Biden spoke in Poland after a surprise trip to Ukraine.t

A historic nuclear arms control agreement was also halted by Putin due to the West’s backing of Kyiv.

The number of strategic nuclear warheads that each nation can deploy was being limited by the nuclear treaty that was signed in 2010 by then-U.S. President Barack Obama and his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev.

The agreement, which is set to expire in 2026, allows each nation to physically inspect the other’s nuclear arsenal; however, inspections had already been halted due to tensions over Ukraine.

Putin also declared that new strategic systems had been placed on combat duty and threatened to resume nuclear tests, raising the stakes in what has evolved into the largest confrontation between Russia and the US since the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis.

Although denying Moscow’s accusation that the West was preparing to invade Russia, Biden vowed to assist Kyiv “unwaveringly” and to strengthen NATO’s eastern flank.

Biden said at Warsaw’s Royal Castle.
“One year ago, the world was bracing for the fall of Kyiv. I can report: Kyiv stands strong, Kyiv stands proud, it stands tall and, most important, it stands free.

He said, “When President Putin ordered his tanks to roll into Ukraine, he thought we would roll over. He was wrong.

“A dictator bent on rebuilding an empire will never be able to ease the people’s love of liberty, brutality will never grind down the will of the free. Ukraine will never be a victory for Russia – never.”

He claimed that Vladimir Putin, his Russian equivalent, felt he was “tough” until he saw the “iron will of America.”

“He thought autocrats like himself were tough and leaders of democracy were soft and then he met the iron will of America and nations everywhere that refused to accept a world governed by fear,” Biden said.

Putin “still doubts our conviction”, Biden said.

He went on to say that the West’s backing for Ukraine “will not waiver” and that Kyiv’s allies “will not tire.”

The NATO alliance is “more united than ever before”, about a year after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine began.

“Democracy was too strong for Putin,” according to Biden.

He continued by saying that the “NATOization of Finland and Sweden” was a result of the Russian president’s offensive.

Putin promised that Moscow will succeed in its goals in Ukraine and dismantle the NATO alliance led by the United States during a speech that lasted an hour and 45 minutes earlier on Tuesday.

He said, “They intend to transform a local conflict into a phase of global confrontation.

“This is exactly how we understand it all and we will react accordingly because in this case, we are talking about the existence of our country.”
