Security Operatives Arrest Suspected K!llers Of Three Farmers In Ondo

A unified squad of security personnel has captured the alleged assassins of three indigenous farmers slain at Ala in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State.

The suspects, who were apparently attired in army camouflage, were detained in an “overnight operation” that stretched into the early hours of Tuesday, November 4, 2025.

The combined team, consisting of personnel from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and the Amotekun Corps, executed the operation far within the forest.

Images of the suspects being pulled into an Amotekun security vehicle have started to spread on social media on Tuesday morning.

A security insider who chose anonymity verified the arrest, revealing that officials have heightened patrols throughout the region to avert additional assaults and comfort inhabitants about their protection.

“The suspects are now in custody for further investigation,” the source added.

The Southern Nigeria Youth Congress (SNYC) had on Monday sounded the alarm over what it termed as the “senseless attacks and killings of local farmers” by suspected armed bandits in Akure North LGA.

In a statement in Akure, the group disclosed that not less than three farmers were killed at Ala, in the Igbatoro area of Akure North, by bandits terrorising the axis.

According to the statement signed by the group’s spokesperson, Afe Adegboyega, the k!llings were “heart-wrenching and unacceptable”

“The m8rder of hardworking farmers is a painful reminder that many farming communities remain unsafe despite repeated assurances from security agencies,” the statement read.

“Our farmers are the backbone of local food production. When they can no longer go to their farms without fear, our collective survival as a people is threatened.

“The time to act is now before insecurity consumes more innocence.”

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
