15-Year-Old Boy Stabs His Friend To Death In Bauchi

Adamu Isa, a 15-year-old son of a retired police officer, was stabbed to death by his friend Abubakar Isa, also 15, in Bauchi State’s Ningi Local Government Area.

The incident occurred on March 27, 2024, just two days after a 16-year-old kid stabbed a 25-year-old man to death in another town inside the state.

According to reports, a heated debate broke out among a group of friends in Ningi’s NEPA area, resulting in a fight between the two teenagers.

During the process, the suspect took his knife and stabbed the victim in the neck, near the throat, resulting in his death before reaching the hospital.

The command’s spokesperson, SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakili, acknowledged the occurrence in a statement on Friday and voiced concern about the wave of young people in the state dying violently.

“On the 27th of March 2024, at about 1701 hrs, the Ningi Police Division received a distress call from a retired DSP Kasuwa Isa who resides behind the INEC office in Ningi,” the PPRO said.

“He reported that his son, 15-year-old Adamu Isa, was stabbed with a knife on his neck by one Abubakar Isah, who is also 15 years old and lives behind the NEPA office in Ningi.

“On receiving the complaint, the DPO of Ningi Division led a team of detectives to the scene of the incident and evacuated the victim to the General Hospital in Ningi, where he was certified dead by a medical doctor.”

The PPRO further stated that the suspect, Abubakar Isa, has been apprehended and is in police custody pending an inquiry into the matter.

He stated that upon getting the information, the Commissioner of Police, Auwal Musa Mohammed, directed the Area Commander in Ningi and the DPO to make urgent efforts to uncover the facts behind the killing, as well as ordering a postmortem on the deceased’s body.

While a complete investigation is underway, the command urged guardians to be more vigilant in protecting their wards’ lives, given the prevalence of violence among young people nowadays.

“The Command is regretting that this is the second case within a few days when similar things happened in the state, a development that it says called for an urgent collective effort by all stakeholders,” he added.

“The Command is not happy with the development, as young people are finding themselves in a very uncompromising situation of a little altercation that is leading to their death.”

The Command expressed its condolences to the victim’s family and prayed to Allah to give them the strength to endure the irreversible loss.

The public’s continued support of the police is requested by the Commissioner of Police.

Then, CP Auwal Musa Mohammed assured the family that justice would be done and that the Police would pursue the case to a reasonable conclusion.
