Little Slips

Most of the time, small mistakes are hardly ever taken seriously enough. And yet little mistakes almost always beget big troubles. We do not think it is a big deal if we break a promise, lose our temper or say something rude and nasty about someone; nor do we think it is something to be bothered about when we fail in some other ways that do not seem to us as sin.

We do not think “little slips” matter much as long as we think we are still loving, honest and loyal in the big things. We never seem to be bothered about the consequences of not doing the most little of things in the best of ways, nor do we consider what may happen if we fail to do the right thing when little matters are involved.

It weakens our character and makes us sin against ourselves when we are not as attentive or faithful in small tasks as we are in seemingly big ones. If we frequently fail in front of other people, especially those who hold us in high esteem, we have no idea what the consequences would be for them. As simple as losing our temper before other people in a manner that is not expected of us could make it difficult for other believers to practice their faith. In the same way, If a Christian preacher fails to repay a small loan, it could tarnish his reputation among a significant number of his members and cast a shadow on his ministry.

We must daily submit ourselves to God and learn not to take little things for granted as we grow to become the very best of characters God wants us to be. Have a blessed week ahead.
