Mason Greenwood Has Been Arrested; Suspended From Training And Matches At ManUTD

Mason Greenwood has been suspended by Manchester United “until further notice” following charges made against him.

The footballer, who is in his twenties, has been arrested on suspicion of rape and assault, according to police.

In a statement released on Sunday, the club announced that “Mason Greenwood will not return to training or play matches until further notice.”

The Old Trafford club has stated that they are aware of “images and allegations” that have surfaced on social media surrounding the 20-year-old.

United, according to a spokeswoman, “does not condone violence of any kind.”

The full statement reads: “We are aware of images and allegations circulating on social media.

“We will not make any further comment until the facts have been established.

“Manchester United does not condone violence of any kind.”

A Manchester United striker was arrested on suspicion of rape and assault, according to a statement from Greater Manchester Police.

The statement reads, “Greater Manchester Police were made aware earlier today of online social media images and videos posted by a woman reporting incidents of physical violence.

“An investigation was launched and following enquiries, we can confirm a man in his 20s has since been arrested on suspicion of rape and assault. He remains in custody for questioning. Inquiries are ongoing.”
