Mbappé Named Vice-Captain Of PSG

Kylian Mbappé has been formally named the vice-captain of Paris Saint-Germain.

The Ligue 1 champions’ manager, Christophe Galtier, confirmed this.

Galtier made remarks after PSG’s 7-0 victory over Pays de Cassel on Monday night in the Coupe de France.

Mbappe, who was given the game’s captaincy, scored five goals as they thrashed the sixth-tier team at the Stade Bollaert Delelis of RC Lens,

Galtier praised the French attacker lavishly following the game.

He said, “Kylian is a goal scorer. He is obsessed with scoring — clearly.

“He scored quite a few last years, 56 or something for the calendar year. It was important that he and Neymar played the whole game here.”

Meanwhile the former vice-captain, Presnel Kimpembe, a defender for Paris Saint-Germain, has stated that he wasn’t informed of his replacement.

The player said this following rumors that PSG convened before handing Mbappe the vice-captaincy position and removing Kimpembe from it.

The 27-year-old defender said: “I wish to make things clear to avoid spreading false information about me. I was not made aware of this decision, this is completely false.”

Manchester United Ranked The Most Valuable Club In England (See List)

According to a recent Sportico survey, Manchester United has maintained its status as the most valuable club in the English Premier League, with a valuation of £4.8 billion.

The Red Devils were valued at £4.8 billion, which placed them at the top of the list.

Man United has continually been the most valuable club in English football, and this trend has continued after they saw a 28% gain in value over the course of two years.

Despite its significant rise in value, Man United’s stock has not gained the most throughout that period.

With assessments of £3.8 billion and £3.5 billion, respectively, their rivals Liverpool and Man City came in second and third.

With a value of £2.9 billion, Arsenal, who are presently leading the Premier League, climbed one rank, while Chelsea dropped to fifth with a value of £2.8 billion.

Others are Tottenham ($2.6 billion, sixth), West Ham ($539 million, seventh), Everton ($486 million, eighth), Leicester ($442 million, ninth), and Newcastle ($357 million) (tenth).

Three Clubs Zidane Will Like To Manage Revealed

About three clubs have been identified that France legend, Zinedine Zidane would prefer to manage soon.

The Athletic claims that Zidane is considering a comeback to Real Madrid when he returns to management. The former midfielder is also open to taking over at Juventus or Marseille.

According to the source, once the La Liga champions are done with Carlo Ancelotti, Zidane is willing to make a third visit to Los Blancos.

Since he departed from Real Madrid in 2021, Zidane has not been in charge of any team.

The 50-year-old recently lost out on the opportunity to coach France’s national team after Didier Deschamps decides to extend his contract as coach of France through June 2026.

Everton Sacks Manager Frank Lampard

Frank Lampard, the (former) manager of relegation-threatened Everton, has been fired after less than a year in command of the Goodison Park team, according to British media on Monday.

The former Chelsea manager was hired to succeed Rafael Benitez in January 2022. However, he leaves the team in 19th place in the standings, level on points with last-place Southampton.

Club directors were told to avoid Goodison Park earlier this month owing to alleged security dangers, an indication of the unrest engulfing Everton.

This comes after Everton’s ninth defeat in their last 12 Premier League games, as they suffered a humiliating 2-0 setback against struggling West Ham on Saturday.

After the game, the club owner Farhad Moshiri, who was in attendance at the London match, was asked by Sky Sports if Lampard should be fired.

He said, “I can’t comment. It’s not my decision.”

Speaking about his own future, Lampard said: “Those things are not my choice. It is my job to work, focus and keep my head down.

“I know there’s things going on at the club but it’s never been a consequence for me whether a chairman or board member is at the game.”
