Buhari At War With APC Governors

President Muhammadu Buhari is now evidently putting measures in place to ensure that the upcoming election is free and fair but why he is doing this is still very unclear to Nigerians.

The Nigerian president authorised the redesigning of the Naira last year through the CBN, also reduced the daily withdrawal limit and made the new currency very scarce.

This, therefore, means that all the looted funds, which are not in the banking system for obvious reasons, become useless.

Some politicians at the moment are being reduced to zero as the money they have been looting is now useless following the deadline for the swapping of old notes on February 17th.

We are now seeing politicians being very angered by the Naira redesign policy.

This also means that vote buying during this election is out of the picture.

The move angered the APC governors and even the party’s presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Several APC governors, which includes El-Rufai, Governor Of Kaduna State and Ganduje, Governor of Kano State, sued CBN and FG in court over the redesign policy.

The court ruled in their favour, suspending the redesign policy and setting February 22nd as the date for hearing the case.

However, President Buhari bent on achieving his goal, did a National broadcast the next day, stating that the old 200 Naira will still be legal tender but the old 500 and 1000 Naira notes are illegal. Most looted funds are in N1000 and N500 notes.

These rebellious governors were not happy with the President’s broadcast, and one of them, El-rufai even went as far as making his Kaduna state broadcast, declaring that the old notes are still legal tenders in the state.

These governors have threatened banks, institutions and businesses within their states, saying if they reject old Naira currencies, they will be shut down.

President Buhari did not stop there, he also deployed Nigerian military in Lagos State to subdue any form of thuggery that may arise during the elections.

The president means business…

INEC Prevented From Hiring MC Oluomo In Lagos

A Lagos State high court stopped the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from hiring Musiliu Akinsanya, also known as MC Oluomo, the head of the Lagos Parks and Garages, to distribute election materials in the state.

The Labour Party had requested a court order prohibiting INEC from using MC Oluomo to distribute electoral materials in Lagos, and the court, overseen by Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke, granted their request.

This comes after the news that MC Oluomo was appointed by INEC to handle the distribution of section material in the state.

The news upset many, as MC Oluomo is under the APC government of Lagos State and there can influence the election in their favour.

MC Oluomo is also viewed as a person of questionable character, controlling ‘area boys’ on the streets of Lagos, who in previous times, have reportedly been used as tools of violence during elections.

DSS Invites Fani-Kayode For Questioning Following Coup Comments

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council’s Director of Special Projects and New Media, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, was invited by men from the Department of State Services (DSS) after he alleged that some military generals were meeting with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, to perhaps organize a coup.

Fani-Kayode said during a press conference on Monday at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja that he was severely interrogated for five hours, an experience he would not wish on his worst enemy.

The former minister, however, said that the DSS agents dealt with him in the most professional manner and did not torture him.

He said that he was not discharged and was instead summoned to come to the DSS headquarters on Wednesday for further questioning.

Fani-Kayode said, “I spent about five hours. I was subjected to thorough grilling; they were very thorough and highly professional in their interrogation. And I was asked to go back on Wednesday for further interrogation.

“The place anybody wouldn’t want to go, I think is the DSS. If I were to do it a second time, I won’t tweet this same way.”

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
