MOTHERHOOD; MY EXPERIENCE!!! PARENTING; DEPRESSION IN CHILDREN 2

The gospel of John 14:26 says“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you”. He will teach all things, including how to train our children, He will help us to be sensitive and bring to our awareness when something is not right with our children, even with our busy schedules. The role of the Holy Spirit in parenting cannot be overemphasized.

I am a 9 am -5 pm mother, a content writer, and an affiliate Marketer, how did I know that my daughter was being bullied with my busy schedule? The Lord has helped me to create a free communication flow between my children and me.

Children

My children have the habit of telling me about what happened in school right from when I pick them up from their school till we get home. They tell me about their friends, their classmates…and so on. They fight over who will talk first. However, I did not notice that my daughter was being bullied in school. It must have been going on for a while and I did not notice until her elder brother told me that she saw someone pushing her head and she did not do anything, that she just walked away.
I did not train them to fight, but I trained them to be able to be bold and stand up for themselves. I believe that was why her elder brother reported her to me and expected her to at least say something to the girl who pushed her head.

As a mother, I called her and asked her about it. She bent her head & I noticed her sad facial expression. She said,” mummy I have told you before that two of my classmates is calling me names. They call me “ant” because of my stature. I apologized to her because I never knew that continued. I taught them it was just that day and that it was a result of a little misunderstanding between her classmates and her. I probed her more and she told me it has been going on for a while but not that long. I educated her and told her why she should not allow whatever names they have called her to make her feel less of herself because they were wrong. I made her know that she is just growing and that she will grow up to be a very intelligent and beautiful babe. I made her know that her stature will not determine her success in life, that she just needs to be focused and be very good at whatever she chooses to be in life and she will be highly respected.

The next day, I reported the issue to her class teacher, who handled the situation well and the bullying stopped.

Even though my daughter told me herself but I did not comprehend, the Holy Spirit made her elder brother call my attention to the situation before it get too late. He will always help, as long as we trust Him and always call upon Him to help us. Thank you Holy Spirit, My Helper.

Do you know that there are different bullying situations, and each situation has its peculiar way of handling them to achieve the desired result?

Join me next week to know how the Holy Spirit helped me to handle it when my son was bullied and intimated by his classmate.

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
