Man Remanded For Sleeping With His 14-Year-Old Daughter

A 45-year-old man, Jimoh Lukman has been placed under custody by an Ilorin Magistrate’s court after being accused of raping his 14-year-old daughter.

According to police reports, Lukman, who was charged with incest, had been engaging in the prohibited behaviour for a number of months until his wife, Sidikat, caught him and then reported the situation.

The report partly read: “The defendant (Jimoh), had been intimidating and threatening to deal with the victim and her mother if they exposed the criminal act to anyone or to any law enforcement agent.”

Sanni Abdullah, the prosecutor, pleaded with the court to keep the suspect in custody.

The case was heard by Magistrate Aminat Omotayo Shittu, who approved the prosecutor’s request and instructed that the defendant remains in custody while the case was postponed to December 22, 2022.

Three Arrested In Ilorin For Allegedly Petrol Theft.

In another case in Ilorin, Kwara State, three individuals were detained by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Kwara Command, on suspicion of criminal conspiracy and petrol theft.

The development was revealed by the Commandant, Ibrahim Tukur, on Thursday in Ilorin at a press conference.

He claimed that on December 7th, 2022, a fuel tanker being driven by one Buhari Joda, 37, carrying 33,000 litres of PMS, stopped at the Oladeji filling station in Ilorin.

While 22,000 litres were released at the Oladeji filling station in Ilorin city, the Commandant reported that 11,000 litres were discharged at the Oladeji filling station on the Oko-Olowo axis of Ilorin.

The two gas stations have reportedly been closed down as investigations are ongoing.

According to Tukur, the fuel supply was intended for a community at Ikorodu in Lagos State but was rerouted to Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.

The driver, who was detained along with two motor boys, Buhari Aminu, 20, and Hamidu Joda, 32, would be prosecuted with criminal conspiracy and diversion, according to the Commandant.

He bemoaned the fact that some people were diverting the product even though there was a severe fuel shortage and an urgent public demand.

Tukur said: “We have directed our anti-vandal unit to embark on 24-hour monitoring of fuel supply and distribution to ensure that the product actually gets to the designated areas and filling stations in the state.”
